Are you a part-qualified or newly qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant looking to build your career in a dynamic, fast-paced group finance environment? We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Group Accountant to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the Group Finance Manager to deliver accurate, insightful financial reporting that supports key decision-making across the business. You’ll help strengthen financial controls, enhance balance sheet integrity, and play a vital part in improving our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Controls
• Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and identify risks or opportunities.
• Take ownership of assigned month-end tasks and post journals independently.
• Support internal and external audit activities and help translate technical accounting matters clearly.
• Assist in preparing monthly balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
• Provide meaningful analysis behind balance sheet movements and variances.
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and support improvements in reporting processes.
Banking & Cash Management
• Support day-to-day banking operations and cash flow monitoring (short and long term).
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure transactions are processed accurately.
Taxation
• Assist in producing timely and accurate tax returns.
Ad-hoc Analysis & Continuous Improvement
• Provide financial analysis to support business initiatives and special projects.
• Help enhance financial processes and drive efficiencies across the Group.
About You
• Qualified or studying towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting.
• Good understanding of balance sheet, cash flow, and financial statements.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements) and ability to interpret large datasets.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
