About The Role

Join us as a Production Planner and take the lead in transforming customer demand into seamless operational success. You’ll be at the heart of our production process — balancing priorities, optimising efficiency, and ensuring that every plan translates into high-quality output and excellent internal service. As a Production Planner at Arco, you will work in a hybrid fashion, with a mix of working from our production site in Preston and home-based working. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, with hours rotating between 06:00 to 14:00 and 10:00 to 18:00.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Monitoring and regularly reviewing operational updates and advising the operational teams of any changes to the original plan
  • Developing a production schedule by utilising the planning tools to consolidate logo requirements and allocate workflow to the most suitable machine
  • Controlling work release to ensure the smooth workflow in operation
  • Working closely with the operational teams to identify opportunities for lead-time reduction and special material requirements
  • Troubleshooting problems that occur during production process, including staff shortages and machinery downtimes and adjust the schedule of work accordingly
  • Ensuring delivery dates are maintained accurately and managing exceptional demand and large orders
  • Providing short term forecast requirements to the operation to ensure outsource demand is managed appropriately against demand trends
  • Closely monitoring 3rd party outsource performance, cost and communicate any consistency issues
  • Escalating issues with master data to the Operations Analyst for resolution

About you
The ideal Production Planner will be/have:
  • On the job knowledge of production planning and supply chain processes 
  • Product knowledge, understanding sku, pack configurations and their relationship in WMCS systems would be a distinct advantage 
  • Detailed knowledge of clothing and decoration products is desirable
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment and to deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate experience of communicating both verbally and in written formats  
  • IT Skills to intermediate level include SAP and MS Office
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Ideally have used Wilcom or any other design software
