Are you a strategic, results-orientated sales maverick who has the capability and drive to deliver new business wins across multiple sectors? Here at Arco, we’re looking for an exceptional New Business Director who can design and execute our new business growth strategy and motivate our new sales teams to push the boundaries on what can be achieved!
As Arco’s New Business Director, you’ll report in to our CCO, and have a team of up to 15 reports who you’ll motivate to execute the strategy you design, ensuring our short and long-term sales pipelines are healthy and our customer value proposition is represented brilliantly. As an expert in contract management, you’ll have the know how and experience to secure and negotiate big wins by effectively collaborating with different areas of our business.
The New Business Director can be based anywhere in the UK but will need to be at our Head Office in Hull at least 1 day a week to collaborate with the sales leadership team and the wider business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Being accountable for leading the strategic planning and execution of business development initiatives, to deliver on the new business target
- Leading and developing the new business function to become a high performing team to win and deliver new business acquisition
- Negotiating contracts and agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms for the company and the customer
- Focusing on building and nurturing relationships and networks, internally and externally
- Strong matrix management with key internal stakeholders to drive growth and influence business strategy towards new business acquisition
- Commercially contributing towards wider strategic business objectives and projects
- Demonstrating a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, market trends, risks and opportunities, providing intelligent market feedback and insights
- Maximising vendor relationships to optimise growth and profitability
- Accurately forecasting of new business performance and demonstrating that robust plans are in place to ensure the numbers are delivered
- Coaching, leading and developing Strategic Development Managers to maximise potential and ensure high performance and engagement

The ideal New Business Director will be/have:
- A results-orientated mindset with a proven track record of successful P&L delivery within a sales environment
- An excellent understanding of market dynamics, competition, customers and regulatory requirements in the PPE Sector
- Very strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate a high performing team
- Extensive experience of delivering successful sales presentations
- Experience of identifying, growing and managing excellent customer relationships
- Experience of developing and executing a new business acquisition sales strategy
- Very high levels of customer focus and commitment to customer service excellence
- A strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals to actionable plans
- Educated to MBA level, or equivalent demonstrable experience is desirable
