In this role, you will work in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner, performing standard warehouse operations and acting as a lead warehouse person within your team. You'll also be required to deputise for the Warehouse Team Leader responsibilities during periods of holiday, sickness, or absence.

Key responsibilities include:
- Taking responsibility for the quality of work produced by the team, including resource planning and utilisation.
- Ensuring all health and safety in the warehouse area and compliance with operating procedures, utilising computer and manual systems to achieve agreed operational targets.
- Analysing and resolving standard operational problems, including adept use of Warehouse Management/SAP Systems.
- Being responsible for staff, performance, and absence management, with the ability to confidently deputise for the team leader in their absence.
- Supporting the warehouse team leader with continuous improvement projects and embracing operational change.
- Supervising workload, managing holiday and sickness/absence, and conducting staff performance reviews.

About you
The ideal Senior Warehouse Operative will be/have:
- Strong organisational skills, excellent accuracy, and the ability to instil this as a key measure within the department.
- Proven ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload effectively, even when priorities shift.
- Experience in managing and motivating a team to achieve high standards, adapting your approach to individual needs.
- Demonstrated experience in performance management, including addressing poor performance constructively.
- A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of managing challenging stakeholder/colleague relationships and resolving workplace conflicts effectively.
- Adaptable and positive when faced with operational change, able to understand its rationale and leverage it to your advantage.
- Basic IT skills and good levels of literacy and numeracy.
- Previous warehouse experience with a good knowledge of WMS/SAP systems.
- Knowledge of health & safety.
- A strong desire to achieve departmental goals and a commitment to continuous improvement.
